Jodi Picoult Fonts

Bonjour!

Today I decided to do a bit of research on Jodi Picoult fonts. I couldn't find too many answers, so I decided to give everyone else a clear idea instead!

I've only read a few of Jodi Picoult's books, so I'll tell you the fonts from the ones I know.

The title font on almost every single one of her novels is Trajan (Roman).

Now, for the specific novels (I've read My Sister's Keeper, Sing You Home, Handle With Care and a few others).

Sing You Home
Max: Book Antiqua Bold, Constantia?
Zoe: ?
Vanessa: a variation of Lane Narrow?
Sammy: Bradley Hand ITC

Handle With Care
Charlotte: Times New Roman
Sean: Rockwell
Piper: ?
Amelia: possibly Corbel, Segoe UI or Segoe UI Light?
Willow: BauerBodoni BT or Bodoni BT
Marin: Adobe Garamond [Pro]?

modern typewriter fonts!

Hey everyone. What's up?

Just did a bit of fontsearch :) on Modern Typewriter Fonts! If you're wondering what Modern Typewriter fonts are, they are just updated takes on Courier New and very old typewriter fonts. (Back then they didn't have Arial & Co, or Comic Sans, for that matter!) It may sound plain, but these new updated versions are very chic, modern and well designed.

(I bet some of you have been waiting for this for a long time!)

I've created a page where you can find your own Typewriter fonts and also see what my best picks are. The best thing is: they're all free! You can donate to the designer, but you don't have to buy the actual font.

So please go and visit the Modern Typewriter Fonts Page.

Thanks!

most overused fonts

hi :)

A few days ago I started a page on the most overused fonts. please go over and check it out!

I'm still updating it (right now it only has a list of them in the wrong order) but it'll be up by the end of today. Check around after 6:00 PM today or tomorrow and it will be there by then. It's not very long so it's just a quick read! Don't forget to post a comment on the page. I'd love to hear if you agree with my choices and why!

If you're interested in reading it, just click on the blue Top 15 Most Overused Fonts link and you'll go right to the page!

I didn't add a font called Trajan although it is mentionable because it would very easily been able to be included.

Most of the fonts are normally installed on PCs but I'm not sure about Macs or Apple computers... anyway, just google an image of them because they are so widely used that Google will definitely have at least a few readable pictures of them.

thanks for reading,
Scoutie Cookie :)

Ivy and Bean Font*

What is the font from the Ivy and Bean series?

Gosh, I've been asking myself the same question for, like, a MILLION years... but I finally found the answer!

Although fonts Caecilla LTD and Nadia Serif are closely related to the font in Ivy and Bean, the main one, Caecilla is to spacey and light to be good enough to use and Nadia... well, there are no quotation marks, commas, or apostrophes... what kind of a font is that? It has good letters but had a very stupid designer. Adelle Thin and Adelle Light were close, although the font is not worth $65+.

The answer to the question: Candida.

The font in Ivy and Bean is Candida.

*I originally thought the font was Adelle Thin, but after asking the question on the WTF Forum (no, not wtf, but what the font!) a very amazing and kind user named Akira1975 answered my question.

If you would like to visit my Ivy and Bean post, here is the link: http://www.myfonts.com/WhatTheFont/forum/case/559396/

If you are wondering about a font, you can posey our own case and because of the fantastic quality of service at What the Font, your question should be answered in a matter of hours... with the right font!
Here is the link to start your own case: http://www.myfonts.com/search/candida/fonts/

You can download Candida from Font Supply free at this link: http://www.fontsupply.com/fonts/C/Candida.html
You should be careful about the advertisements around the download - if you see an add that says anything about a font installer it is a virus... so for you new fonties you have to pay attention to those kind of things. Oh, also - they have a preview of the font at the link too so you can see what Candida looks like AND you can download it at the same time!

Sorry about that little glitch.. Adelle Thin is very similar to the Ivy and Bean font, except the one difference that really sprang out at me was the g in both fonts. In font picking I usually pay attention to the lowercase g, y, q and p.. because the curves and lines in them are very distinctive to me. The y in Adelle was similar although the g was rounded.

Adelle Bold and Adelle Bold Italic are avaliable for free download... the other fonts (around 14 to 20, depending on the website) are priced from $29 to about $70... the link below is for the download of Adelle Bold and Adelle Bold Italic. It is a nice font although it's a little expensive for my taste.
http://www.type-together.com/index.php?action=portal/viewContent&cntId_content=3000&id_section=166 (takes a little longer due to having to put in a code).

note: freepremiumfonts.blogspot.ca has lots of popups and advertisements as soon as you click on the link to the website... it is one of the first results although it is just a big scam! They don't actually let you download any fonts - I would recommend avoiding it.

Well, that's one more question me and all the font searchers can stop asking themselves. Phew! No more whenever I go looking for fonts, What is the font from Ivy and Bean?
If you haven't heard of Ivy and Bean or Adelle Thin, you can check out both of them here:

Bad Fonts

Today I decided to review some bad fonts.

(You can see my full review of them at the Bad Fonts page).

My top ones were Comic Sans MS, Papyrus and Century Gothic. I originally liked Papyrus and Century Gothic, although I've always hated Comic Sans MS, phew!

Why I hate them? Well, Comic Sans MS is THE MOST HATED FONT IN THE WORLD. I usually defer from popular opinion, (I hate The Hobbit, Lord of the Rings, The Hunger Games, Harry Potter, Times New Roman, Studio Ghibli, you get the point) for once I agreed. The same goes for Papyrus.

I'm going to keep on adding to it - I thought about reviewing Twentieth Century Monotype (usually referred to as Tw Cen MT) but in 14 it actually looked okay, so I decided against it.

I started looking around the internet for some good ideas on what fonts I should hate - the top two were usually Papyrus (second) and Comic Sans MS (first).

The other fonts, all of which I'd heard of, included Kristen ITC, Jokerman (this one isn't so bad!!), Monotype Corsiva, Playbill, Courier [New], Brush Script, and New Times Roman.

I have to say that Jokerman and Monotype Corsiva are okay. I can totally believe some people don't like Times, Kristen ITC, Playbill and Brush Script.

Here is a link to the Bad Fonts Page, where I reviewed Century Gothic, Times New Roman, Comic Sans MS, Papyrus, Brush Script and more:
